The Cooperation Plan for 2023, based upon the Banco de Portugal’s strategic vision for cooperation, envisages 160 initiatives, with around 40 partner institutions from emerging and developing countries as well as multilateral institutions. The central banks of Portuguese-speaking countries are the Banco de Portugal’s main cooperation partners, accounting for 85% of the planned initiatives.
The cooperation activities involve nearly all the departments and functions of the Banco de Portugal. In 2023, key central banking topics – such as supervision, financial stability and statistics – will be addressed, as well as new structural challenges, such as digitalisation and cyber security.
