Le Portugal salue la delegation du Gabon et presente ses condolences suite au décès de son Ministre des Affaires Étrangères.
We welcome the repeal of the provision in the Penal Code criminalizing same sex relations. We also welcome efforts to improve women’s rights and gender equality and the new draft law to reinforce the mandate of the National Human Rights Commission.
In a constructive spirit, Portugal would like to recommend that Gabon:
- considers to recognize the right to education in its Constitution and,
- reinforces accountability for business activity, in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
Portugal wishes Gabon a successful review.
